The 2016 vintage in Alsace had a full season with great maturity but without excess summer heat, preserving fruit and acidity. Wine is made at Domaine du Manoir at the foot of the Letzenberg hill.
Terroir is Clayey limestone with terraced vineyards, located on east facing side of the hill slope with low yields. Grapes, growing on 27 year old vines, were hand harvested, crushed lightly and pressed with long fermentation on the lees.

The 2016 Gewurztraminer is a lively wine with aromas of exotic fruit, floral notes and a hint of spice which will develop aromas of peppermint and spices as the wine matures. The palate is fruity and refreshing with a good balance between sugar, acidity and fruitiness. This wine can be enjoyed now or saved for another 6 years. Pairs well with cheeses such as muenster, bleu and roquefort, spicy food and lighter desserts such as fruit tarts.
